euroNAS releases Hybrid Storage Cache Tiering functionality
Munich, December 2nd 2014. The German storage company euroNAS GmbH based in Munich today announced its latest data storage functionality. The new euroNAS “Hybrid Storage Cache Tiering” improves the performance of storage servers by dynamically moving frequently used data to a faster, smaller device such an SSD.
euroNAS Hybrid Storage Cache Tiering helps to use the best of both worlds. It is possible to combine SSD and SATA/SAS disks and achieve much greater I/O performance while still maintaining larger capacity of the standard drives.
Some of the possible scenarios would be
- Building a hybrid server containing SSD and SATA/SAS disks
- Improving the performance of existing euroNAS Servers by adding additional SSD disks
- Boosting the performance of existing Fibre Channel RAIDs by attaching them to euroNAS Server, combining with SSD disks and exporting them as euroNAS FC SAN
No vendor lock-in
As all euroNAS products SAN Cluster software is not locked to certain server manufacturer.
