The Challenge
As Hertel has operations in Europe, the Caspian, Asia, Australia and the Middle East, a solution needed to be found which manages data replication between different sites. For a VMware ESX server it was also nessesary to have a reliable iSCSI SAN solution.
Other important points were the support of an uninterruptible power supply and a rich feature set with expansion options so that future challenges could be successfully met.
The solution
After an intensive evaluation of various available solutions on the market, the decision fell on euroNAS. The main arguments that led to the decision were cross-site data synchronization functionality, an extensive feature set and UPS support.
Today, Hertel AG uses several euroNAS installations primarily as data servers, iSCSI SAN Storages for VMware ESX and as backup servers.
euroNAS was the only software that supported all features we needed out of the box. I can highly recommend it.
