Network Backup is a powerful backup solution designed to efficiently store virtual machine backups on a remote Backup Server. It uses advanced deduplication and compression techniques to minimize storage usage and optimize backup performance.
Unlike traditional incremental backups, Network Backup ensures that only unique data is stored, eliminating duplicate blocks and significantly reducing backup size. This approach not only saves storage space but also accelerates backup and recovery times.
Once configured, Network Backup allows you to create and manage scheduled backup jobs, ensuring your virtual machines are securely backed up and easily recoverable when needed.
Creating a Backup Schedule
In this example, we will show you how to create a backup schedule.
1. Click on “Create Schedule for Backup to NAS”.
2. Choose whether you want to back up all current and future VMs or select specific VMs manually.
3. Selecting “All” ensures that newly created VMs are automatically included in the backup schedule, preventing accidental omissions.
4. In this example, we will manually select one VM for backup.
5. Define the backup schedule by selecting which weekdays the backup should run, start time, maximum number of VMs to back up at once, and retention period (how long backups are kept).
6. The newly created backup schedule will now be visible under “VM Backup Management”.
