Upgrade from Previous Versions

Upgrade from Previous Versions

Overview

This document explains how to upgrade from version R6 to version R7 using an ISO file. It is possible to upgrade the nodes one by one without shutting them down. You can simply migrate the virtual machines to the remaining active nodes and then upgrade the nodes sequentially. This minimizes downtime and simplifies the upgrade process.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you have a backup of your current data and configurations.
  • You must have administrator privileges on all nodes in the cluster.
  • Verify that all nodes meet the minimum requirements for version R7.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Prepare for VM migration:

Migrate all running virtual machines (VMs) from the node you wish to upgrade to another active node in the cluster.

  2. Download the ISO file:

Download the ISO file for version R7 from the official website or the provided link.

  3. Prepare the ISO file on a bootable medium:

Create a bootable medium (e.g., USB stick or DVD) with the downloaded ISO file.

  4. Upgrade the first node:

Insert the bootable medium with the R7 ISO file into the node you wish to upgrade and reboot it.

Ensure the node boots from the ISO file.

The installation process should detect the existing R6 installation and offer an upgrade to R7.

Confirm the upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.

After the upgrade is complete, restart the node.

  5. Repeat for the remaining nodes:

Once the upgraded node is up and running, migrate the VMs from another node that needs to be upgraded to the newly upgraded node.

Repeat the upgrade process for each node in the cluster until all nodes are running version R7.

Post-Upgrade Cluster Check

  • Ensure all nodes have successfully restarted and are running version R7.
  • Verify the integrity of the data and configurations to ensure no information was lost during the upgrade.
  • Perform tests to check the performance and stability of the upgraded cluster.

Final Steps

Once all nodes have been successfully upgraded to version R7 and the cluster is running stably, the upgrade is complete. It is recommended to perform regular backups and system monitoring to maintain the integrity and performance of your cluster.

Please note: Starting with version R7, only HTTPS connections are allowed (Ports 443 or 3733).

If you encounter any issues during the upgrade, please contact support or consult the official documentation for further assistance.
