Software for storage and virtualisation
euroNAS develops four hardware-independent software products for distinct infrastructure roles. Install directly on qualified server hardware without an additional host operating system, or deploy selected storage editions as complete virtual appliances.
One manufacturer and support boundary; four products with clearly separated roles.
Four products—not four editions of the same system
Each software product is designed for a different infrastructure responsibility. Select the operating model first, then validate protocols, availability, recovery and growth.
euroNAS Premium
STORAGE OSStandalone enterprise storage on one physical server or as a Virtual Storage Appliance.
- File, block and S3 services from one software product
- FC, iSCSI and NVMe-oF target options
- Snapshots and asynchronous replication
- Integrated S3 File Manager
HA Cluster
HA STORAGE OSCompact two-node storage availability with automatic service failover.
- Synchronous Mirror or dual-controller shared-storage architecture
- File, block and S3 services with integrated S3 File Manager
- Multipath-capable block access and automatic local takeover
- Separate asynchronous replication option for disaster recovery
eEKAS
CEPH STORAGE OSDistributed block, file and S3 storage with graphical Ceph administration.
- Multi-node scale-out with explicit failure-domain planning
- GUI workflows for cluster, drives, WAL/DB and Metadata FS
- No routine command line or previous Ceph knowledge required
- S3 File Manager, capacity quotas and billing options
eEVOS
VIRTUALISATION OSVirtualisation, availability and recovery in one complete software product.
- Single node, synchronous Mirror, shared storage or Ceph models
- Live VM and storage migration
- Integrated Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Instant Backup & Recovery plus network and S3 backups
The operating system is part of the product
euroNAS is not an application installed on top of a separately maintained general-purpose operating system. Bare-metal products include the complete operating environment. Selected VSA editions contain the same complete euroNAS environment but run inside a supported hypervisor.
No additional host OS or separate host OS licence is required on the euroNAS server.
The appliance includes the euroNAS operating environment and runs on the existing hypervisor.
Compare responsibility, scale and protection model
The products overlap in selected protocols, but their infrastructure roles are intentionally different.
| Decision point | euroNAS Premium | HA Cluster | eEKAS | eEVOS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary responsibility | Standalone storage OS | Highly available storage OS | Distributed Ceph storage OS | Virtualisation OS |
| Typical deployment | One physical storage server or VSA | Two storage nodes or dual-controller shared storage | Qualified multi-node storage cluster | Single node, Mirror, shared-storage cluster or Ceph |
| Bare metal | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Virtual appliance | Yes | Available for qualified mirror topologies | Bare-metal cluster is the normal deployment model | Provides the virtualisation host environment |
| Storage services | File, block and S3 | File, block and S3 | Distributed block, file and S3 | Uses internal, shared or Ceph-based storage for VMs |
| S3 management | AWS CLI-compatible S3, integrated File Manager and bucket-count quota | AWS CLI-compatible S3, integrated File Manager and bucket-count quota | Ceph S3, AWS CLI, File Manager, bucket-count and capacity quotas, plus billing options | Uses S3 services for backup workflows |
| Availability model | Standalone service; replication is a separate protection mechanism | Automatic two-node failover; synchronous protection in Mirror topology | Distributed availability across defined failure domains | VM availability using the selected single, Mirror, shared or Ceph model |
| Growth model | Scale up one system | Compact two-node HA | Multi-node scale-out | Add compute nodes; storage growth follows the selected model |
| Backup and recovery | Storage snapshots and asynchronous replication options | Storage snapshots plus synchronous protection and separate asynchronous replication | Distributed Ceph data protection; backup and recovery design depends on workload and service | Integrated Backup & DR, Instant Backup & Recovery, network and S3 backup |
| Best starting point | Focused file, block or S3 storage | Automatic storage service continuity | Distributed capacity and S3 services | Integrated virtualisation and recovery |
Supported combinations depend on software version, hardware qualification, host compatibility and topology. Project validation remains required.
Four questions define the shortlist
Capacity alone does not determine the correct software product.
What must the system provide?
Storage services, virtualisation, S3 services or combined virtualisation and recovery software.
What must remain available?
Storage services, individual VMs, an entire site or distributed data across failure domains.
How should it grow?
Scale up one server, remain a compact two-node design or expand across multiple nodes.
How must it recover?
Snapshots, synchronous protection, asynchronous replication, VM backup or disaster recovery.
Protocols support the product decision
Technology pages explain compatibility, performance and operational trade-offs. They complement the product portfolio rather than replace it.
Four products, four clearly defined working areas
The web interface guides administrators through storage, cluster and virtualisation tasks. Select any image to inspect the interface at full size.
System status and storage services
Review capacity, file and block targets, hardware status and network activity from one central dashboard.
Monitor a two-node cluster
Check node, heartbeat, network and replication status centrally and understand current service availability.
Manage Ceph drives graphically
Review cluster health, usable capacity, OSDs and pool allocation without relying on the Ceph command line.
Virtualisation across a multi-node cluster
Monitor hosts, active virtual machines, Ceph health and utilisation across the cluster from one interface.
Select the right software for your infrastructure
We can review workload, host compatibility, access protocols, availability, recovery and growth before recommending the appropriate euroNAS product and deployment model.
