Server mirroring via Ethernet
HA Cluster mirrors the data in real-time on two servers (synchronous data replication) over the network, ensuring uninterrupted data availability and high fault tolerance.
Shared storage via iSCSI, SAS, Fiber Channel, or NVMe-oF
Both server nodes can share the storage via iSCSI, Fiber Channel, SAS, or the latest
NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF)
protocol. This allows for high-speed data access with low latency, which is critical for modern SSD and NVMe storage environments, enhancing performance and scalability.
NVMe-oF / NVMe over TCP
NVMe-oF and NVMe over TCP further enhances the flexibility of storage by enabling NVMe transport over standard IP networks or over Fibre utilizing RDMA Protocol. This provides a cost-effective and high-performance solution, particularly for newer versions of virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V, ensuring compatibility and improved data transfer speeds without the need for specialized hardware.
Failover services for business continuity
If one of the two servers in the replication network fails, the euroNAS system automatically switches to the second server without any manual intervention. HA Cluster supports all major network protocols and can provide data via SMB / CIFS, AFP, NFS, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF. Active Directory connectivity is also supported, ensuring seamless failover and business continuity.
Not coupled to specific hardware
Traditional storage server manufacturers often offer proprietary hardware tailored to their systems, making expansions costly and locking you into their ecosystem. With euroNAS, you can rely on the hardware of your choice, offering flexibility and cost savings compared to proprietary systems, and maintain control over future expansions.
Software-defined storage
euroNAS supports a wide variety of hardware but can also run as a virtual storage appliance within a virtualized environment. This allows you to maximize the use of your existing hardware and avoid costly, unnecessary upgrades. You can convert your existing infrastructure into a high-performance storage system.
Hybrid cache
euroNAS Hybrid Storage Cache combines SSD and SATA / SAS drives, maximizing both capacity and I/O performance. The system automatically analyzes the data access patterns and moves frequently accessed data to the faster SSD drives. Over time, this intelligent cache system adapts, optimizing performance and data flow for your specific workload.
Client support
euroNAS supports all major client systems natively, including Microsoft Windows (XP, 7, 8, 10, Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019/2022, Hyper-V), VMware ESX / ESXi, Mac OS X (including XSAN and StorNext), Citrix XenServer, Linux, and Unix environments.
Active Directory
Your server can be configured to integrate with Active Directory domains, automatically synchronizing users and passwords. This makes it easier for system administrators to manage permissions across the organization, streamlining user management and enhancing security.
SMB/ CIFS support
euroNAS products support access via the SMB protocol (SMB versions 1, 2, and 3) / CIFS, ensuring seamless file-sharing capabilities with Windows-based environments.
AFP support
AFP is the preferred protocol for macOS environments, ensuring fast and reliable file sharing and compatibility with Mac clients.
NFS support
With NFS support, connecting Linux / Unix clients or virtualization servers is simple and efficient, providing flexibility in cross-platform file sharing and storage access.
iSCSI incl. VAAI
iSCSI allows SCSI commands to be encapsulated in Ethernet packets, enabling transport over IP networks. euroNAS supports iSCSI drives on local or RAID storage, which appear as local drives to the client. With VAAI (vStorage API for Array Integration) support, euroNAS offloads tasks from VMware ESXi hosts, improving performance. Security is enhanced with CHAP authentication and LUN masking.
Snapshots
euroNAS snapshots are an efficient way to protect your data, allowing quick recovery from a previous point in time. These snapshots consume minimal system resources, enabling frequent backups without impacting performance or consuming excessive storage space.
Hardware RAID
euroNAS supports a wide variety of hardware RAID controllers. The integrated Hardware RAID Manager allows you to monitor and configure your RAID directly from the software. It simplifies RAID setup, initialization, and management while supporting multiple controllers through an intuitive interface.
Software RAID
euroNAS also offers Software RAID, providing a cost-effective alternative to hardware RAID solutions. This feature delivers similar performance and reliability, allowing you to combine drives into a unified, redundant array, further lowering system costs while maintaining high availability.
UPS support
euroNAS servers automatically shut down safely when battery power is low, protecting your data. E-mail notifications inform you of power outages, and SNMP and USB devices are supported to further enhance UPS integration.
Network port bundling
For enhanced redundancy and throughput, euroNAS allows you to bundle network ports. This increases network reliability and improves overall performance for mission-critical applications.
E-Mail notification
euroNAS sends e-mail notifications for hard drive failures, power issues, UPS status, and cluster events, ensuring that administrators are always informed of critical system events in real-time.
Ideal Storage for VMware ESXi and Hyper-V
euroNAS is an excellent storage solution for VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V environments. Its high-performance storage options, including NVMe-oF and NVMe over TCP, ensure low-latency access and superior scalability for virtualized environments. Whether you’re using VMware or Hyper-V, euroNAS provides robust, flexible, and highly available storage, making it the ideal choice for modern data centers.
