Introduction

Welcome to eEKAS – a next-generation, Ceph-based storage operating system designed for modern enterprise environments. Engineered to provide scalable, high-performance, and highly available storage, eEKAS simplifies the management of complex storage infrastructures through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI).

With its unique architecture, eEKAS enables seamless grouping and allocation of resources using IP Groups. These IP Groups serve as flexible containers for services such as SMB, NFS, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF, allowing for precise control, load distribution, and efficient resource utilization. Each IP Group can contain multiple IP addresses and can be dynamically reassigned between nodes, making eEKAS an ideal solution for environments requiring high availability and fault tolerance.

In the event of hardware or node failure, eEKAS ensures business continuity by automatically transferring IP Groups and their associated services to another node within the cluster. This failover capability, combined with Ceph’s robust distributed storage backend, guarantees data integrity and system resilience without manual intervention.

Whether you are deploying a scalable storage backbone for virtualization, a robust file server, or an enterprise-grade backup target, eEKAS offers the reliability, flexibility, and ease of use required to meet today’s demanding IT environments.

This guide will walk you through the installation, configuration, and management of eEKAS, helping you maximize the potential of your storage infrastructure with confidence.
