Ceph Cluster Capacity & Architecture Advisor

This tool helps you estimate usable capacity and fault tolerance for a Ceph cluster based on your hardware configuration — whether you are planning an eEVOS virtualisation platform, an eEKAS storage deployment, or a custom Ceph architecture.

Enter:

  • Number of nodes

  • Total OSDs

  • Disk size

The advisor calculates total raw capacity and suggests suitable replication and erasure coding profiles including estimated usable space, host-level fault tolerance and performance impact.

All calculations assume CRUSH failure domain = host, protecting against full node failures — the most common enterprise failure scenario.

Fault tolerance values assume no additional simultaneous disk failures. Redundancy acts as a shared safety margin.

Note: This tool provides guidance based on best practices and sizing heuristics. It does not replace a professional architecture review. Our experts and partners are happy to assist with hardware selection and complete eEKAS and eEVOS design for production environments.

Recommendations will adapt based on workload (profiles, performance tier and sizing guidance).
