eEVOS – Off-Site Disaster Recovery

Off-Site Disaster Recovery (DR) in eEVOS extends resilience beyond the local datacentre, enabling critical workloads to survive site-level outages such as power failures, environmental events, or major hardware loss. eEVOS supports replication of VM data, snapshots, and configuration metadata to a remote eEVOS system or secondary storage target.

This replication can operate on a scheduled or continuous basis, depending on the recovery point requirements. Because eEVOS manages replication within the storage layer, it preserves data integrity and ensures that replicated copies remain synchronised with the production environment. Compressed delta transfer minimises bandwidth usage, making eEVOS suitable for DR strategies across WAN links.

In the event of a disaster, the remote eEVOS system can activate replicated VMs and assume service responsibilities. Recovery is deterministic because all VM parameters, IP Groups, and disk states are preserved. Administrators can also perform DR testing through isolated clones without disrupting normal replication flow.

For multi-site organisations, eEVOS provides a clear, predictable path to achieving both low RPO and low RTO without requiring traditional enterprise DR software stacks. Its simple configuration model allows even smaller IT teams to implement a fully capable DR strategy.
