Creating ZFS Snapshot Schedule

With ZFS, you can schedule daily or hourly snapshots for efficient and reliable data recovery during emergencies. Hourly snapshots allow you to define working hours, reducing unnecessary snapshots outside of active periods and optimising storage usage.

Step 1: Click on “Create Snapshot Schedule”

To begin, click on **Create Snapshot Schedule**.

Step 3: Define the Type of Schedule

Decide between daily or hourly snapshots. In this example, we select hourly snapshots and define working hours to limit snapshots to active periods. – You can specify a maximum of 30 snapshots per resource. – Once the limit is reached, the oldest snapshots will be automatically deleted to make room for new ones.

Step 4: View the Schedule in the Snapshot Overview

Once the schedule is created, it will appear in the Snapshot Overview. You can now see that the selected resource has an associated snapshot schedule, and both manual and scheduled snapshots will be displayed here.
